FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Pinus Cembra wood?
The Pinus Cembra is a conifer with extraordinary therapeutic properties. Its characteristic sweet aroma, not too strong, enhanced by its balsamic resin power creates a magical environment. One of the most interesting aspects is undoubtedly related to the beneficial properties of this wood known since ancient times. The persistent scent of its wood can decrease the heartbeats and promote relaxation, is therefore a perfect ally for good rest. It’s also an excellent antibacterial. Studies carried out at the Austrian research centre Joanneum Research have scientifically demonstrated that Pinus Cembra's wood have positive effects on the reduction of stress and on the body’s ability to recover.
Does it have maintenance costs?
Freedom was designed to have low running costs. Unlike the most common air purifiers on the market, with Freedom you DO NOT HAVE TO REPLACE FILTERS, their effectiveness is guaranteed for 3 years. We recommend washing the filters under tap water every 2-3 months. The dust prefilter at the rear shall be checked from time to time and, if necessary, replaced
How much does it consume?
Fredoom has the lowest power consumption in its category. It has an absorption of only 9W and is powered at 12V in low voltage. This means that it will cost only €0.60 using Freedom 10 hours a day for a week.
What is Photocatalysis?
It is a chemical reaction that mimics the photosynthesis of trees in absorbing and transforming pollutants into harmless elements. The chemical process that is at its base is in fact an oxidation that starts thanks to the combined action of light (solar or artificial) and a photocatalyst. Since in nature nothing is created and nothing is destroyed, even the photocatalytic reaction presents residues that derive from its oxidizing action. Generally the compounds that derive from the transformation of the pollutants are: Mineral salts and limestone, produced in minimal quantity (parts per billion) invisible and harmless. The polluting and toxic substances are in fact transformed, through the process of photocatalysis, in sodium nitrates (Nano3), sodium carbonates (Ca(NO3))2 and limestone (Caco3), harmless and measurable in ppb (parts per billion).
How many square meters does it cleanse?
Freedom manages to filter about 125 m3/h equal to a room of 40 mc.
Is it silent?
Freedom is extremely quiet. It has a rumurosity of less than 40 dB(A) at a distance of one meter. The noise generated by a rustle of leaves or a night silence is around 20 and 35 Decibels.
Does it have any certifications?
We have carried out several tests in independent laboratories that have validated the effectiveness of Freedom in destroying fine dust, bacteria, VOC, Nox, odours, molds and yeast present in the air. For example, after 180 minutes of use, it has been shown to reduce more than 80% of fine dust.
Is it effective against viruses?
Currently we have the result of tests on nanotechnological treatment that we use for our filters, where it is evident the effectiveness in eliminating in 15 minutes 98% of viruses inoculated on the surface.
What is the difference with HEPA filters?
HEPA filters retain most pollutants, bacteria and viruses, but do not destroy them. They remain trapped in the filter. For this reason HEPA filters are to be considered a special waste and as such cannot be disposed of in the dry waste. Freedom’s filtration system is based on PCO (Photocatalytic Oxidation) technology. PCO technology has been developed and used by NASA for the sanitization of environments for aerospace missions, where one of the main prerogatives is the quality and healthiness of the air. The photochemical reaction that is generated, thus allows to destroy polluting substances, in particular bacteria, viruses, molds.
